Priscilla Brown, Owner/Director:

Mrs. Brown began her study of dance with Joyce Freeman and has taken classes in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, hip hop, and modern. After graduating from Dallastown Area High School she moved to the Hanover area where, for 10 years, she studied, taught, and choreographed with three award-winning studios, all with performing companies. She has placed first in competition herself, performed in theatre productions, most notably as the dance partner of the choreographer in “The Taffetas” at York Little Theatre, and has also danced in holiday parades. Through the Academy, Mrs. Brown has choreographed dances that she and her students have won platinum, gold, and high silver medals for at competitions. Since her ownership of the Academy, her accomplishments outside of the studio include choreographing and co-directing two stage plays for the Music Department at York College, choreographing a sonata concert at a local church, and choreographing York Suburban’s Middle School musical. Mrs. Brown’s current pursuits in the community include being the resident dance teacher for all gymnastic team members at Gymnastics of York. She has also recently choreographed “Kiss Me Kate” and “The Rocky Horror Show” at York Little Theatre, where she is currently choreographing “The Full Monty” for the fall. She believes that a good teacher never stops being a student; she continues to take master classes with professionals from all over the world in all aspects of dance and theatre, as well as taking technique, belly dance, and salsa from her own teachers. At dance conventions, she is continually one of the few teachers actually participating in the master classes. Priscilla, who is also a trained accountant, currently lives in Dallastown. She has been teaching dance for 21 years and has owned PAAY for 11.

Jamie Carrozza:

Ms. Carrozza began studying with Joyce Freeman at the age of eleven, taking classes in ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical. Soon thereafter she started assistant teaching and won an “Outstanding Assistant Teacher” award in 2001, one of only two ever presented. She has taken master classes at Access Broadway conventions, as well as competed there with group dances and photogenic entries that received high silver, gold, high gold, and platinum awards. She graduated from the York County School of Technology, where she was crowned prom queen. Jamie lives in York and also works full time as a dental assistant at the Children’s Dental Centre of York. She has been teaching at PAAY since 2002.

Lindsay Harry:

      Ms. Harry's bio Coming Soon.

Jennifer Naylor-Gross:

Mrs. Naylor-Gross began her dance training in Hanover at the age of seven and has studied all styles of dance. In high school she trained, performed, and competed with a successful performing company, and was also the recipient of a dance scholarship. In doing so, she won numerous first place trophies in group, duo, and trio categories, as well as in holiday parades. She also performed in musicals at Spring Grove High School, York College, and the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center. Jennifer’s favorite dance memories include performing at Walt Disney World and Six Flags. She taught at the Joyce Freeman Studio of Dance from 1998 to 2000 and then took a break to concentrate on her studies at York College, where she graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral science. Jennifer lives in York with her husband and is currently a new 4th grade teacher in the Littlestown School District after several successful years working at Junior Achievement as a Regional Manager. She plans to complete her Masters degree in Education in the next year. She has taught for PAAY for 9 years so far.

Rolando Nieves:

Mr. Nieves is originally from Brooklyn, NY. His dancing ability and choreography are a natural gift. During his junior year of high school he worked with Priscilla Brown at William Penn High School Performing Arts Institute to learn dance step terminology and some teaching skills. He continues to take classes at PAAY to expand his dance knowledge and skills. Rolando has also been to the Access Broadway convention and taken all their master classes. Because of his Puerto Rican heritage he has also been doing true salsa dancing since a young age. Rolando works full time at Community Banks and lives in York with his fiancée and baby girl. This will be his 5th year teaching with PAAY.

Katie Piccone:

Ms. Piccone was born and raised in New Jersey where she formally studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and pointe at Kathleen Academy of Dance. She also attended modern dance workshops at a local college. Later, as Katie broadened her dance education, she studied Raqs Shakri, commonly known as belly dancing. She continued with those classes for 6 years, attending belly dance master classes as well, and has performed at various restaurants and parties in Maryland. She participated in the Knicks City Dancers Boot Camp 2 years in a row and was on her high school’s dance team. In addition, she has performed, instructed, and choreographed with the colorguard at her high school. Katie lives in York and works in Camp Hill as a preschool teacher. In her spare time, you can find her performing onstage at York Little Theatre.

Mitzi Ross:

Mrs. Ross is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Administrative Management. She has been dancing and performing since the age of six. She has studied with Joyce Freeman and has attended dance classes in New York. Mitzi is a member of the National Dance and Show Twirl Team and has performed in theatre productions. She has also done choreography for shows at Suburban High School and Middle School and has won 9 first place awards as the Director of "A Touch of Jazz" dance company. Mitzi is married, has a son, and lives in York. She has been teaching dance for over 25 years and has been with PAAY since it was started.
