IMPORTANT REMINDERS
1. Notebooks are required for ALL classes and ALL students. We sell them for $2 and also provide pencils each week for note taking.
2. Attire and hair requirements will be strictly enforced, including selling ponytail holders to students who come to class without hair away from their faces. If either rule is violated, a student will be warned for the first occurrence. The second time it happens, a parent will be spoken to. After that, if a student violates the rules again, he or she will not be allowed to participate in class but will still be charged. These rules are for the students’ own learning and respect.
3. We are offering 4-week courses in ballroom/social/couple/wedding/salsa dance on an ongoing basis.
First of all, thank you so much for your interest in PAAY! My philosophy as a studio director is for my teachers to personally help each student learn the technique and steps. Good technique is the basis for any great dancer, and this training starts at the very beginning and should be stressed throughout any and all dance training. A person must execute a move properly and slowly before he or she can truly do it well. I also believe that family is the root of everything important, and I want each student and his or her family to feel like part of a bigger family through my school. There is no pressure for my students to perform at any given level, only encouragement to do one's best. We turn the words "I can't" into "I can't....YET". There is also no competition among students; I don't accept the "diva" attitude. Most importantly, I totally enjoy every part of performing arts and I simply want to share that love in hopes that it is contagious. In addition, teaching dance is not a “job” for my instructors, it is a PASSION! So all Academy students will dance in a happy environment full of respect and compassion for each other, where a good attitude is as just as important as ability.
